When you use ChengYu Puzzle, we may collect the following information:

• Email address — when you subscribe to new puzzle alerts or generate a learner share link.
• Learner name — provided by you when generating a share link, used only to personalise the report email.
• Game session data — which idioms were found, number of misses, hints used, and completion time. This is tied to your share link and is used for the post-game report.

We do not collect passwords, payment details (handled by Stripe), or any other personal data beyond the above.

• Alert subscribers — your email is used solely to notify you when a new free puzzle is published. We will not use it for any other purpose.
• Learner share links — your email and the learner name are used to send a single post-game report email after the learner completes the puzzle. We may also send a link to the full game report page.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.

Your data is stored securely in our database hosted on Turso (SQLite). Game session data and email addresses are retained until you request removal. We take reasonable security measures to protect your data.

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. To do so:

• Reply to any email you received from us with the subject "Unsubscribe" or "Delete my data"
• We will remove your records within 7 business days

We use minimal session cookies required for authentication on the premium dashboard. Free puzzle play does not require cookies or an account.

We may update this policy as the product grows. The date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
